Direct Replacement for Rexroth GFT 110 W3 Series
The GFT 110 W3 6497 R916012025 is a planetary winch reduction gearbox built for the Casagrande RIG B300 rotary drilling rig. It belongs to the GFT-W family of planetary gearboxes used in hoisting mechanisms — truck cranes, crawler cranes, ship cranes and harbor cranes — where the gearbox is installed inside the winch drum to save installation space. Raydafon manufactures the GFT 110 W3 6497 as a performance-equivalent replacement for the Rexroth GFT 110 W3, with more than 80% of internal components interchangeable: planet gears, cageless planetary gear bearings, planet carriers and ring gears. Because the gearbox mounts inside the drum, it keeps the winch assembly compact while still delivering 100,000 Nm output torque and 300 KN cable force for heavy drilling operations.
The GFT 110 W3 uses a compact two-, three- or four-stage planetary layout that fits entirely inside the winch drum. Every component that carries torque has been designed around the load profile of a drilling rig winch — repetitive start-stop cycles, high radial loads at the drum bearing, and long duty periods in dusty or humid site conditions.
The planetary gears run on a cageless bearing arrangement instead of a conventional caged needle bearing. This raises the load rating of each planet stage and eliminates the cage as a failure point under shock loads.
The output side main bearing is sized for the radial and axial loads of the winch drum, not just the torque load. This is what allows the gearbox to be mounted inside the drum without an external support bearing.
Seal materials and geometry are selected for the temperature range and contamination level of construction and drilling sites. The sealing package is designed for pressure wash-down and dusty environments.
A multi-disc parking brake can be integrated into the gearbox housing, so the winch holds position without an additional external brake unit. The brake is released hydraulically as part of the winch control circuit.
The motor interface accepts Rexroth fixed or variable motors — A2FM/E, A6VM/E, A10VM/E — without an adapter. For the GFT 110 W3 specifically, the standard matching motors are A2FE180, A2FM250, A6VE160 and A6VM250.
Mounting flange, shaft dimensions, oil ports and overall envelope match the Rexroth GFT 110 W3. Over 80% of internal parts — planet gears, cageless bearings, planet carriers, ring gears — are dimensionally interchangeable with the original Rexroth units.

Casagrande RIG B300 and similar rotary drilling rigs use the GFT 110 W3 in the main winch and auxiliary winch circuits. The gearbox mounts inside the drum, and the multi-disc parking brake holds the drill string when the hydraulic circuit is depressurized.
The GFT-W series is the standard winch drive for truck cranes, crawler cranes and harbor cranes in the 25–100 tonne lifting class. Compact mounting inside the reel is what allows a lower crane deck height.
Marine winches need sealed gearboxes that tolerate salt spray and continuous duty. The optimized seal package on the GFT 110 W3 is designed for this environment, with the motor interface positioned for easy hose routing on deck.
Any hoisting mechanism with a hydraulic motor drive and a drum-mounted gearbox can use the GFT series. Common retrofit cases include older drilling rigs, piling rigs and special-purpose winches where the original Rexroth unit is no longer available.
