There are several different types of PTO shafts to choose from, so you must choose the right shaft for your equipment and application. RAYDAFON offers three different types of PTO shafts: North America, Germany and Italy. Each type includes several series options, including various bearing diameters, total cover to cover length, and snap rings. The most accurate way to determine the correct series is to measure the outer diameter of the bearing cap and universal joint from one end of the bearing cap to the other. The position of the snap ring is another determining factor.

Ensure that all shields and other tractor and implement PTO shaft components are in good working condition. Do not operate the tractor and implement PTO shaft components when the tractor engine is running or any part of the PTO shaft drive implement is still moving. The PTO shaft shield should always be installed in place and properly maintained. Disengage the PTO shaft, turn off the tractor and make sure it is stationary before cleaning, repairing, maintaining or adjusting the machine. Do not cross the rotating shaft. Correctly position the tractor drawbar for each machine, so as to reduce the stress on the transmission system on uneven ground or at turns to prevent separation.
